Reading Groups

We recently established a security reading group at my research group which is, afaik, a nice stride. Reading groups are nothing new:  well known universities like Cambridge have reading groups for specific topics for many years. This one here is a very interesting one: Statistical Methods for Signal Processing

Although the website is quite old, most of the materials are still available for download!

Castle of Herten

Yesterday, I visited the castle of Herten and I was really astonished about the nice countryside they have in the middle of the Ruhr area. You can definitively plan to spend a whole day in the park located near to the castle.
